The site comprises a single agricultural field which is defined by boundary vegetation located on the southern side of Darlingscote Road.  

 

The Site is immediately adjacent to the settlement of Shipston-on-Stour, which is predominantly to the south and east. Shipston on Stour has been recognised as a sustainable location for new development by Stratford-on-Avon District Council within their adopted Core Strategy 2011 to 2031 (adopted July 2016), being categorised as a Local Service Village. It is also identified in the emerging South Warwickshire Local Plan as a suitable location for future growth.

 

The Site is located in a ‘Strategic Growth Location’, identified as Shipston-Upon-Stour (reference SG17), a highly suitable location considered by the Councils to be a priority for future development.
